African Golden Cat
Other names: gato dorado (Spanish); gnaou ya zamba (Lingala - West Africa); semaguruet (Kipsigi - East Africa)
Description: With one of the most wide-ranging coat colorings of any cat, the African Golden Cat certainly lives up to its name. It can be orange to gray, plain, a little spotted, or completely covered in spots. It is often called the “leopard’s brother,” but not because of its spots - the two often live in the same neighborhood. Found in moist forests and mountains of Africa Golden Cat survives on monkeys, rodents, and other small animals.
