Lilac Persian

An offshoot of selective breeding for Himalayans, the lilac colour of this cat’s coat is a dilution which is linked to the Siamese so, although accepted as a colour variation of the Longhair in Britain, in the United States it is seen as a separate breed called Lavender Kashmir. It has the copper or orange eyes and the thick, silky coat of its Persian ancestors but with a new pink-grey tint.

As with Persians, the body is a solid, cobby type with short, thick legs and large, round pars. The tail is bushy and eneds in a plume. The round head features fully developed cheeks and a short nose. Eyes are round and large. Ears are relatively small, rounded at their tips, and well tufted.

Because of its Persian-ty[e coat, the Lavender Kashmir requires daily brushing with a soft-bristle brush to prevent matting. It’s a good mouser and enhoys some time outdoors, but it is equally happy with an indoor existence.
