Red iguanas are multicolored terrestrial and semi aquatic lizard that are mostly found in eastern and southern parts of Africa. They are one of the rarest species of iguana family. Red iguana enclosure: It is important for owner to provide proper enclosure to his pet red iguana to stay in. the enclosure of red iguana should be at least 30 to 35 gallons so that they can grow properly. Enclosure of red iguana can vary in size, color, shapes, style and quality. Their enclosure can be made of either wood or glass. You should keep the base of their enclosure clean in order to prevent it form infections. The shallow dish that in which you offer food to your pet red iguana should be cleaned regularly. 2. Food and water for red iguana: They are herbivore animal and like to fed on variety of plants, vegetable and fruits. You can serve green leafy vegetable such as mustard greens, kale, escarole and spinach to your pet red iguana. Vegetables such as squash, frozen, mixed vegetables, green pepper, green beans, and fruits such as mangoes, grapes, cherries, apple and papaya can be served to red iguana. It is important for owner to feed proper amount of proteins, vitamins, minerals and fats to red iguana. The food that you serve to your pet should be chopped properly before serving it to red iguana. 3. Handling red iguana: You should handle red iguana cleverly. You can pick red iguana by gently rubbing their back and neck. You should handle them properly as they are aggressive in nature. Proper attention and care is required to handle red iguana. It is important for you to groom your pet red iguana properly in order to prevent it from infections. Iguana should be bathed three times a day using lukewarm water in a shallow dish.
